The makers of Odia movie DAMaN are mulling releasing the Hindi version of the movie soon.

The film is written and directed by Vishal Maurya and Devi Prasad Lenka. The producer of the film is Dipendra Samal. Vishal Maurya is originally from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, he did his schooling from Saraswati Shishu Mandir Gorkhi, Gwalior. After this he obtained engineering degree from Vidisha Engineering College. Debi and Vishal together made another Hindi feature film, Bee for Bundelkhand. That too will be released soon. Vishal further added that shooting the film in remote areas like Malkangiri was a challenging task. During the shooting of the film, we were apprehensive that people would like this film or not? Will the producers like this idea or not? Making this film for us was like a gamble where the outcome could be anything. But now it is satisfying to see people's positive response to the film and immense love from people.
DAMaN is jointly written and directed by Debi Prasad Lenka and Vishal Maurya. Odia film superstars Babushan Mohanty and Dipanvit Das Mohapatra have played lead roles in the film. Considering the social angle of the film, it has been made tax free in Odisha. Naveen Patnaik said that this is a film inspired by the scheme of Odia government. That's why they declare it tax free in the state. This is only the second Odia film after 'Sansara' to be tax free in the state. 'Sansara' was released in 1974.
