Bollywood: Before Aryan Khan, these celebs spent days in 'Arthur Road Jail', some went to jail for bomb blasts and some on rape charges
The Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) has sent Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan to 14-day judicial custody in a drug case. Aryan Khan was arrested after the NCB raid on a cruise ship on 2 October. On Thursday itself, the magistrate court of Mumbai had pronounced the decision to send Aryan and the rest of the accused to judicial custody for 14 days. However, soon after the court's decision, the accused had filed a bail application.
Hearing the matter, the court rejected the bail application on Friday. Aryan is currently kept in Arthur Road Jail after the bail plea was rejected. But, Aryan is not the first celebrity who has to face this jail. Let us know which artists spent days in Arthur Road Jail before Aryan -
Salman Khan
In 2015, a Mumbai sessions court convicted Salman Khan in the 2002 hit-and-run case and sentenced him to five years in prison. The actor had to surrender soon after the court's decision. After this, Salman was first taken to Arthur Road Jail.
Sanjay Dutt
Bollywood's Munnabhai i.e. Sanjay Dutt also spent his days in Arthur Road Jail in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case. The actor was kept in the high-security block here. After this he was sent to Yerwada Jail in Pune.
Raj Kundra
Before the Aryan Khan drugs case, another high profile case had made a lot of headlines in the media. Recently Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman Raj Kundra was arrested in pornography case. Raj Kundra is alleged to have made adult films with the intention of allegedly publishing them through certain apps. The 46-year-old businessman was lodged in Arthur Road jail for nearly two months in this case. Presently he is out on bail.
Shiney Ahuja
Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja was arrested in June 2009 for raping and threatening his 19-year-old domestic maid. He was lodged in Arthur Road Jail till he got bail in this case.
Sooraj Pancholi
After the death of Jiah Khan in 2013, Aditya Pancholi's son Sooraj Pancholi was accused by Jiya's mother Rabia. After this, Suraj was also kept in the high-security block of the same jail for about three weeks till bail.
Inder kumar
Late actor Inder Kumar had also spent 45 days in jail for allegedly raping a model in 2014.
