NamasteJuli a german YouTuber, lives now in India. Moving to India during times of covid-19 was not the best Idea, but Juli knows how to spread happiness, even during lockdown.

Julia Sharma (Juli) comes originally from Germany, in the age of 15 she started a career as a Model and traveled all over the world. She been to India her first time 2019 for a Model project in Mumbai. Planned were just a few days of stay, but Juli loved it so much that she extended her stay for 2 months.

Juli says: “I always felt drawn to all the colorful things, to spicy food, and spirituality. I just didn’t know where to find it. In Germany people used to call me “different” as I never behaved like a German. When I visited India I felt like coming home after a long time. The people were so welcoming, and they accepted me as I am.”

It took not long for Juli to adapt to the Indian culture. She knows how to drape a saree, she wears everyday a bindi on her forehead and she even learned to speak Hindi.

For a period of two years she lived in Dubai, to be with her Indian Boyfriend. In February 2020 she traveled a second time to India. This time to Jaipur, where she met the parents of her Boyfriend. After they both returned back to Dubai they stuck in there for one year due the first wave of Covid-19.

Juli used this time and prepared herself for Bollywood auditions by improving her Hindi and her dance moves. One year later they both could finally come back to India. This time they decided to travel through whole India. Juli started a Youtube channel name - NamasteJuli and shares her exciting adventures of her journey with people all over the world.

Juli says: “In Europe most of the people don’t know the real beauty of India. They only see the bad media which is shown in the news. I’ve been in India and I feel that this negative news are not justified, as India is a big continent and by example if in Italy something bad happens, nobody would say don’t travel to France because in Italy something bad happened. “

Her journey started in Mumbai over south India, Goa, Kochi, Allepey, Athirappilly, Idukki, Trivandrum to north India, Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Agra, Delhi and Jaipur. Her journey stopped in Jaipur as Juli decided to settle permanently in Jaipur.

Juli says“ India is an incredible country! I don’t have a favorite state, each place is special and completely different than the other. I loved the exotic in south of India and the chaos in north India. I have made wonderful experiences, in south India we have seen the Athirappily waterfalls, we had a Sadya on a houseboat in Aleppey and I travelled my first time by train for 34 hours to north India and in Ahmedabad, we visited the cricket match to support India when they played vs England and I got captured in the big screen of the stadium while I was cheering for India and in Agra my boyfriend proposed me in front of Taj mahal. I made great friendships all over India and I learned that the simple life is what makes me happy. This journey has made me realize that my soul must be Indian in my past life. Me dil se Bharatiya hu“

Juli's shift to Jaipur was not that easy as she and her fiance got surprised by the second wave of Covid-19. Both were supposed to move in their new apartment in Jaipur but then they got stuck in the current lockdown. Juli shares her experience daily on YouTube with her over 90.000 subscribers.

Juli says: “Especially the first few days in our new home were very difficult. We slept on a thick blanket and had nothing else in the apartment. We ordered the essentials online but due the current lockdown the deliveries took more time than usual and furniture are not deliverable at all. But this doesn’t discouraged us, it’s just a matter of time and then our life in India will start. We pray for everyone in this pandemic and hope that the lockdown will help India to control the amount of Covid cases. Sabh kuch acha hoga “

Juli motivates her YouTube subscribers with daily vlogs and Instagram reels full of positive vibes to spread happiness during this hard time. She is known for her smile, regardless of situation, she always smiles and sees the positive aspects. This might be also the reason why her YouTube channel have grown from 16.000 subscribers to 90.000 subscribers in only 4 months.
